The client is a large Consumer Packaged Groups company headquartered in UK. Its products include food, beverages,cleaning agents and personal care products available in 190 countries around the globe.
The Challenge
The client has a large distribution network across the globe. As part of its aggressive growth plans, the client needed to access new markets to expand its global footprint. This entailed adding new distributors to its existing distributor network across regions such as Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Philippines.
The client was using a SAP system to monitor and manage its distributors across geographies. Every time a new distributor was identified, the distributor details were entered into SAP. Each distributor was then assigned specific roles and responsibilities and mapped to the region he/she was serving. The entire process was being managed manually with multiple dependencies on the client. This in turn was resulting in errors and process delays which was further affecting business revenues.
Mindtree’s Solution
Mindtree automated the entire distributor creation process using Robotic Process Automation (RPA). This involved the following:
- Automatic monitoring of distributor feeds related to becoming part of the company’s existing distributor network
- File download from SharePoint without the need of manual intervention.
- Configuring the entire distributor process from assigning roles and responsibilities to updating files in the SAP system
- Automatic creation of distributor with appropriate notification to the functional team once the process is complete
